2005 Artist's Annual Holiday Open Studio The week end before Thanksgiving Friday, Nov 18, 6 pm- 9 pm Saturday, Nov 19, 10 am- 6 pm Sunday, Nov 20, 1 pm-5 pm New to ARC: Opening of "Comedy Cobb" Improv/Comedy Club; Drop in and observe open rehersal held Friday Nov 18 ;6:30-8:30, and attend special shows held Saturday the 19th at 5:30 & 8:30 with two for one admissions (includes refreshments). Adewale Adenle is a Nigeria-born, mixed-media artist, painter and political cartoonist, and his wife Sheleen is a sculptor . http://www.artdewale.com/ Tim has created several unique pieces for this event. Art Center located on Cobb Parkway and visit professional artist's in their studios, watch demonstrations of glass blowing, wood turning , visit furniture makers, enjoy the new Comedy/Improv studio that opened Nov 12; meet the artists, purchase one-of-a-kind work directly from artist. "Although we routinely give tours to groups, including High Schools and Universities , this gives others a chance to see an artist in their working environment, stop and ask questions, watch demonstrations like glass blowing ,or catch a performance at the new improv Comedy Cobb" says Potter, "and they can purchase one-of-a-kind items made by the artist they meet." FALL Annual Open Studio The studios here are individual businesses, and are not always open to the public. The annual open studio event provides an opportunity for the public to wander through the artists studios, meet the artists, see their work, and tour the 43,000 SQ. FT. facility Most of the artists in the center open their doors to the public for the anual "Open Studio" event, which is held the week-end before Thanksgiving. This gives people a chance to watch demonstrations, and many of the artists offer items for sale. |
