The idea behind the garden , and outdoor living, is to relax and have a little whimsy. This exhibit is not a stark look at design, but a look at how good design and fine craft can be comforting and fun in the outdoor environment. The common thread in this exhibit is fine craftsmanship by artisans, and the items  in the exhibit relate to the garden. Naturally we will show gates, in fact several are by artisan Ivan Bailey, but we will also have an outdoor setting with an iron  table created by artisan Andrew Crawford, and   serving utensils cast in pewter by artisan Kaycee Binns, so there will be a wide range of things to see and a  price range to  accommodate many budgets. Bird houses and lighting on exhibit are by artisan Stan King who won Best  Design  in the Habitat for Humanities Bird House Design Competition  a couple of years ago. Also included in the exhibit are sculptures for the garden and 2 dimensional works of contemporary landscapes, traditional paintings, and  photography again related to the garden. Many of the studios in the 43,000 sq. ft. A.R.C. center will also open their doors for explorers during this event.
The Exhibit is done in conjunction with the annual garden tour put on by the Cobb Landmarks and Historical Society. A.R.C.  will be one of the destinations noted on the map, and have a presence at the historic Root House Museum.  The exhibit at A.R.C. is free, and tickets for the tour of 6 gardens through out Cobb County can be purchased at the Root House Museum and the Marietta Welcome Center. Advance sales are  $10.00 and  $12.00 the day of the tour .
